EDM

Except for preschool education, the entire system of education from the primary to the university levels comes under the administrative control of the Ministry of Education.   • Public education in Hongkong is almost entirely financed by the government from the general revenues, although schools and universities are encouraged to raise funds particularly for capital expenditure for construction of buildings or major facilities. Special Education

Special education schools run programmes that are designed to cater students with moderate to severe special educational needs. Special education teachers in elementary school work with young students who face various learning disabilities. They may aim to help students transition into regular classes, or simply help them improve functionality.
Currently, in Hongkong, there are 19 government-funded special education schools run by 12 social service agencies. All of them provide intensive and specialised learning support for children with moderate to severe special educational needs. As a special education teacher, you will undergo training to deliver the customised curriculum and pedagogy required by these children.
